The department's overall objective is for students to be proficient in the understanding of and ability to apply economic models and concepts. Within this objective are several implicit goals. Proficiency with economic models and concepts develops student's ability to systematically analyze human interaction, solve complex problems, and think strategically about the intended and unintended consequences of actions.
