Abstract

Current online shopping experience has limitations due to lack of uniform, inter- linked machine readable data across various shopping sites. This project attempts to improve the experience by employing semantic web concepts such as OWL and SPARQL. A new OWL ontology is defined for product data and real-life data from shopping sites such as Amazon, Yahoo shopping are imported and inter-linked using this ontology. A web-based personalized shopping agent is implemented to query this inter- linked database by specifying the preferences for various product attributes. Screenshots of the resulting system and its usage have been provided.
