Abstract
The digital age has not just revolutionized but transformed academic publishing, fundamentally altering how information is stored, accessed, and shared. This seismic shift, far from leaving professional librarians uncertain, presents an urgent and exciting opportunity to redefine the operations and procedures required for proper functioning. This paper aims to provide step-by-step guidance for constructing digital libraries, including software installation processes. Library data becomes visible on the World Wide Web by using a combination of Apache, PERL, and GSDL software. Through Dublin Core Metadata, users can describe their resources for discovery within distributed systems. Combining these methods allows libraries to create digital libraries using the described software efficiently. The research analysis suggests that new services should include electronic information resources available online and on compact discs. Users can now access digital content through repository services provided by more libraries. Modern academic research has shifted toward digital repository storage systems in universities. Academic staff members primarily develop educational resources that exist offline. Due to information saturation, libraries must develop and maintain systems that provide users with essential content. Educational institutions create institutional repositories to systematically collect and preserve digital materials produced by faculty and students. Academic organizations can build their repositories using the free tool Greenstone. Digital library solutions help manage and distribute scholarly content effectively. This paper explores the construction, curation, and customization of digital collections for Library Hi Tech News. LIS professionals can create tailored digital libraries that meet the changing needs of researchers and practitioners, placing the user at the center of the process. The present study investigates both obstacles and optimal usage recommendations for Greenstone when applied to LIS journals, emphasizing the importance of a user-centric approach in the digital library construction process.
