Abstract
The Hugh T. Carlisle Collection 1826-1924 (bulk 1861-1924) documents the life of Hugh T. Carlisle, a Civil War soldier and veteran. The collection contains correspondence, journals, legal records related to his military pension and property transactions, newspaper clippings, and a marriage certificate. The bulk of this collection relates to his Civil War service and includes documentation on his success in obtaining a Homestead Act property deed in 1880.
