Recipient of the following honors: Distinguished Fellow Award of the National Society for Public Health Education; Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Writing and Outstanding Contribution to the Literature, Journal of Allied Health, American Society of Allied Health Professions; Exceptional Merit Service Award, awarded by the President, San Jose State University and the Chancellor's Office, California State Universities and Colleges; President's Award, Northern California Society for Public Health Education; Dorothy Nyswander Award for Leadership, 1996, Northern California Society for Public Health Education; Helen Ross Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Leadership established by San Jose State University Department of Health Science, 1996.
