Abstract
After ten years hosting classes, presentations, and social gatherings in Virtual Worlds, members of the Virtual Center for Archives and Records Administration (VCARA) virtual worlds interest group turned their attention to the opportunities afforded by Virtual Reality. A survey was developed to identify criteria to be used when evaluating virtual reality solutions for classes, training programs, presentations, and social activities. Fifty-eight educators, who have successfully navigated the virtual world environment, responded to this survey. This work-in-progress paper presents the methodology used to gather the information, a summary and discussion of the findings, and plans for future activities and further research.
