This forum aims to provide SJSU Library faculty and staff as well as SJSU Library & Information Science faculty, doctoral and masters students an opportunity to explore research issues and share new ideas in their field. The forum will be a virtual symposium, hosting both in-person presentations and remote presentations through Elluminate in a completely digital format. All presentations will be archived in the university’s institutional repository, SJSU ScholarWorks

Formal Presentation
The primary objective of the formal presentations is to provide a forum for reporting original and developing research in the librarianship. Research may be either quantitative, qualitative, or practice based. PowerPoint presentations can be based on completed research studies or those in progress that can benefit from collegial feedback. A brief review of the literature in support of the study can also be included. Presentation submissions are open to participants who wish to present on site or for those who wish to do so remotely via Elluminate.
Interested parties must fill out the submission form below by April 23rd, 2012. Notifications of acceptance will be sent on April 25th, 2012. For accepted proposals, participants must submit PowerPoint files of their presentations to the Planning and Review Committee by May 2nd, 2012.

Poster Session
The intent of this track is to provide a visual representation of research studies in the field of Library & Information Science. This track is particularly useful for presenting a brief summary of completed research in illustrative form or for exploring a research topic through visual concepts, with an emphasis on proposed hypotheses and methods. Poster session submissions are open to participants who wish to exhibit at the forum or present digital sessions remotely via Elluminate.
All interested parties must fill out the submission form by April 23rd, 2012. Notifications of acceptance will be sent on April 25th, 2012. All participants, regardless of whether they attend the forum in person or remotely, must submit a PPT version of their work to the Planning and Review Committee by May 2nd, 2012. No physical posters will be displayed at this forum. Digital versions will be presented on flat screen monitors.
