Personal Commentary
Enjoyed serving students for 39 years as a faculty member at San Jose State University, and as Department Chairperson of the Nutrition , Food Science and Packaging (NUFS/PKG) Department for 32 years. Proud of Department providing over 150 course sections each semester at the undergraduate and graduate level for 400 students in the major, General Education courses, and other courses for non-majors.
Happy to have generated over $3 million in grants from the California State Department of Education , Sacramento, for the CalProNet Center which funded a variety of training workshops for child nutrition specialists and school foodservice directors over 28 years.
Excited to have coordinated annual SJSU/NUFS/PKG student/faculty Poster Sessions of research and projects for the Regional Silicon Valley District Meeting of the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics each year in September from 2006 to 2018.
