Personal Commentary

It's obvious that some departments require less time of their instructors and that grading comp is time consuming. I think English Departments should have only a nine-unit load. I'm glad to see some people interested in publication; I'm also glad that the publication requirements for promotion are less than those of many other institutions, since our charter re/Title V is mainly teaching.

I'm proud of the interest the SJSU English Department instructors take in students.
