Personal Commentary

I've been at SJSU since 1990. My research, teaching, and service generally focus on applied communication, as with organizational communication, disability studies, and internet communication. For the past 15 years, I've taught nearly all my classes online, with some hybrid sections. The third edition of my public speaking text with Cengage, Public Speaking: The Evolving Art, was published in January 2014. Recently, Joy Hart and I signed a contract with Cengage for a survey of communication text titled The Evolving Art of Human Communication.
