Personal Commentary
Our hobbies included traveling, writing, photography and Elder‑hosteling. Much of our traveling was done on ships, especially freighters. The longest freighter trip was around South America for 136 days with only four other passengers. We've circumnavigated the world twice.
Freighter travel afforded my wife and me time to write. I did most of my work on two textbooks while on freighters. On another trip my wife and I wrote our family journals which we distributed to the Baird and Warburton families.
We are thankful that we've had a good life, doing things we've enjoyed with people we respected and cherished. I played my way through my adult life, from dance bands to theater orchestras, to symphonic groups.
Then there has been the joy of seeing my students make their contribution as teachers, performers, and composers in their communities throughout California. We have been and are blessed.
