Personal Commentary
After conducting workshops in "Comparative Education and Cultures" and "Intercultural Psychology and Group Dynamics" in Norway, Denmark, and Germany in 1971 and 1973, I continued in the Student Personnel Division at San Jose State until retiring in 1977. It was then that my wife and I started escorting groups on cruises. We had 13 tours including the Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal, North Cape, Europe, Africa, China, and Japan.
During my tenure at San Jose State, I continued the hobby of magic and have entertained groups including Faculty Wives, CSEA, Boy Scouts, school and church groups, industrial banquets, and last year gave my 651st performance at an employees' Christmas party at Canterbury Woods in the retirement community in Pacific Grove where we took up residence in 1981. My wife was active in PEO, AAUW, and organized a Candy Striper program through the local school. I am a member of Sons in Retirement, organize an occasional tour, play golf, and work as a Volunteer in the Community Hospital of the Monterey Bay.
