Personal Commentary

I started to work at San Jose State College in 1936 and finished my BA degree while working there. I was 4F and could not get into the armed services during the war, so I stayed at SJSC and also worked civil defense jobs.

I served as chapter president of CSEA at SJSU for two years and regional director for four years.

I was on the staff of Field Studies in Natural History for 23 years.

I was on the board of the California State Employees Credit Union for 24 years, serving as president for 12 years of them.

After retiring from SJSU, I was contacted by Ohlone Junior College in Mission San Jose. They were having problems with their maintenance department . . . I straightened it out and set up a maintenance program. Then built a new home on Camano Island, Washington, and lived here ever since.
