Abstract
One of the most important criteria while building three-tier Client/Server applications is to make sure that they are scalable. They must not only support large number of users, but also support large databases. The selected database must support the application needs as the application environment grows.
The purpose of this project is to build a 3-Tier Client/Server application called “Bank Debit-Credit Benchmark Application” using an object database and components. and test it’s scalability and performance. The results are then be thoroughly analyzed to determine if the Object Database and Component technologies used in the application are a feasible solution for building scalable 3-Tier Client/Server applications.
