Abstract
The Capital Budget Tracking System (CBTS) is implemented using Microsoft Visual Basic as the front-end tool and Microsoft SQL as the back-end Database. The system is designed to minimize “cut and paste” and the introduction of “redundant data."
The system provides the following features:
- ease of use
- operational efficiency
- reduction in redundant data
- unified Database
In this system the user inputs the information through CBTS. System security is maintained for the front-end application as well as for the back-end Database. With one centralized database, senior management, company controllers and the users can run reports on their own schedule. The application provides the basic finance reports by department, asset code and board code. Other reports are available through any off-the- shelf report writer.
