Abstract

This report documents the implementation of the Reusable Component System (RCS), an Internet application or environment for archiving and accessing shareable or reusable components from an organization’s centralized repositoiy. The components in this environment can be shared between different projects within an organization. The shareable entity contains reusable components which include executables, object files, libraries, documentation, and source code, that can be reused or shared by more than one project within an organization. RCS provides a Java Applet as the application Graphical User Interface (GUI) which allows users to interact with RCS and perform various functions.

The goal of this project is to implement a software application using Object-Oriented Analysis and Design methodology to help any multi-project organization to maxi-mize software reuse. Specifically, an organization using RCS would have advantages such as easy access to reusable components, and reduced development time and resources for new projects.
