Abstract
This thesis project addresses the use of a visual programming environment to develop a customizable project management system. AppWare was chosen as the development environment because it allows an application to be customized by someone with minimal programming knowledge.
AppWare is a visual programming environment that allows applications to be created by connecting objects and functions. The user of AppWare draws the application and the logic. The AppWare environment allows anyone with general programming knowledge to create or modify an application without investing a significant amount of learning time. Applications generated by AppWare can run on the Macintosh operating system or Windows operating system.
This thesis contains background information on software metrics, an overview of the AppWare environment, the design of the configurable project management system, the AppWare code that was used to generate the application, and an example of how to extend the implementation.
