Abstract
Does a job search feel a mystery? Do you ever wonder why job postings are written the way they are, what the qualities of an effective interview may be, and why searches seem to take so long? Join Craig Simpson, director of special collections and archives, and Carli Lowe, university archivist, both from San José State University, as they describe the process of creating and applying for a new university archivist position, in what was ultimately a successful search. Our guest speakers will also offer suggestions for strategies to help navigate and demystify what can be a stressful and opaque process.
