Abstract
As a teacher educator, I sought to understand how to operationalize a care ethic in my remote teaching over a three-year period. Through surveys, student work, interviews, and video-ed synchronous class sessions with four cohorts of teacher candidates, the lenses of care ethics revealed particular pitfalls in the online realm, the salience of authentic modeling through narrative, confirmation in assessment, and dialogue in collaboration to operationalize a care ethic in an online environment.
