Abstract
We address several issues discussed in a recent paper by Heras and Heras (2020 Eur. J. Phys. 41 035202). We offer an interpretation of a somewhat cryptic assertion by Richard P Feynman about reality of the electromagnetic potentials, we discuss the issue of proper definitions in physical science, and we analyze the use of the continuity equation by the authors - relating their paper to the context of a recent paper written by the author of the present comment.
