Abstract

This chapter calls for a re-envisioning of “The Core Intercultural Communication Course” as a critical intercultural communication course for colleges and universities around the globe. More specifically, I highlight the significant need for the core intercultural communication course to be a critical intercultural course and how it should not be merely framed as a “one off” or an instructional choice (i.e., based on instructors willing to teach it this way), thereby keeping the traditionally taught intercultural communication course intact and permanently naturalized as “the intercultural communication course.”.
