Abstract
Telecommunications devices, such as media gateways and media pack analog telephone adapters, often rely on Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOSes) for enhanced performance and real-time quality of service (QoS). However, security is often neglected, with many critical infrastructure devices depending on obscurity rather than robust defenses. This study explores the security risks of common RTOS-based devices in the industry and the potential consequences of their vulnerabilities in the face of cyber threats.
