Abstract
The San Jose State University (SJSU) Library, a participant in the United States Government Printing Office Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), has maintained and provided access to Federal government publications for the campus and local community since the early 1960s. The FDLP began the transition from tangible (print) publications to electronic format in 1994, and now, ten years later, 66 percent of new titles added to the FDLP were electronic online titles. 1 The SJSU Library online catalog, as the primary access point to the Library's resources, reflects traditional cataloging practice in which full bibliographic records are included for all items. With the emergence of electronic resources, the SJSU Library recognized the continuing importance of having all publications and formats represented in the catalog. Therefore, the Library provides bibliographic records for all formats of government publications, rather than relying solely on links for electronic government resources from local Web pages.
