Abstract
In my ten years as a librarian I have been a project lead for 4 library system migrations and have participated in as many more. In the world of constantly shortening timelines for technology obsolescence, increasing options and demand for metadata integration, and a growing number of programming languages that may be needed, there is a heavy demand for people with adaptive skills that can understand and synthesize the cross-section of technology needed to migrate library systems.
I will discuss some of the tips and tricks I learned working with OCLC, SiriDynix and ExLibris - as well as the different programming and encoding languages I've had to utilize - including MARC21, UNIMARC, MAB, XML, XSLT, Python, HTML, CSS, Amazon CLI, Linux CL, etc.
