Access to e- library resources are normally via computers and mobile technologies using local network or the internet connection. This makes searching from e-library resource more appealing to academic library users. However, libraries still experiencing low users’ patronage with the e-resource collection, hence this study is undertaken to ascertain the searching preference by the Students of the Federal University of Lafia to help devise better ways of meeting their information searching needs. The research s employed descriptive survey design, using nonprobability convenience sampling to select daily library registered users. Total of 104 users participated in the survey targeting both online and physical registered library users. Findings showed that majority of users make use of mobile phones to access e-resources. They reported user challenges and attributed them to mobile technology usage. The study recommends regular organisation of library-use trainings for users on digital literacy and skills for accessing e-resource. In addition, there should be synergy between libraries, ICT Units and University management to curb the challenges relating to internet and Wi-Fi connection on campuses.
