Personal Commentary

My commitment to General Education through my work in New College, the GE Advising Center, and Undergraduate Studies took precedence over all traditional disciplinary teaching and scholarly work. Directing the design of Special Majors and implementation of an online degree audit system supported this passionate commitment. SJSU was my community and family for 35 years memorable years.

In retirement, I am giving back to my community. I volunteer as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), teach school children at the Seymour Center (UCSC Long’s Marine Lab), and facilitate a digital photography group at UCSC Osher Lifelong Learners. In my free time, I have adventures with my granddaughter, tend my garden under the redwood trees, and play with my dog and husband.
