Abstract
Last semester, in Fall 1999. the author was doing research in California Reserve Book Room in Martin Luther King. Jr. Main Library' in San Jose, for one of her class projects. There she happened to read some articles about Burbank Neighborhood. One of the articles '‘Burbank residents claim adult theater causes problems" (Mercury' News Sep.29 1993), was about the Burbank area. It was an interesting article. In this article a resident is expressing her protest and anger in a unique way. Readers can see this article later in the report on page 79. The author became interested to know more about that area. So she went there, talked to the people and had a tour of the entire neighborhood. As an Urban and Regional Planning student, her eyes caught many planning issues in the neighborhood but she was fascinated with the older housing stock. Then she decided to do further research of this area called “Burbank’', The following report reflects her findings.
