Abstract
Aerial View of the Labyrinth is a collection of poetry exploring the unsteadiness that occurs when you leave the familiarity of the place where you grew up and find a new sense of self alongside new surroundings. Thematic elements of the poems explore the terrifying freedom that comes from finding who you are and how to reconcile the fraught relationship you have with your roots when it is also the foundation of your identity. The collection mainly employs the use of free verse first person narrative poems to exemplify the confessional and semi-autobiographical nature of the subjects.
