Abstract
Higher education professionals across the nation have fought tirelessly alongside our students and our community partners for social change, to prevent ceaseless cycles of violence, and to “get out the vote,” aiming to usher in a new cohort of elected officials who will commit to equity. All of the contributors to this book are changemakers and liberators. All of the authors believe that the students we serve can and will create a better future, given the education and the confidence to do so. As collaborators, we became painfully aware of the differences in our work schedules, our structural supports for project management, and our distinct networks of colleagues, disciplinary affiliations, and professional associations. A wide range of topical issues are addressed in this compendium including racial injustice, the marginalization of immigrant perspectives, educational disparities, interpersonal violence, and climate crises.
