Abstract

This autoethnographic essay, inspired by Pelias’s “The Critical Life,” follows one faculty member throughout her day. Approximately 25 years after the publication of “The Critical Life,” this piece challenges us to reflect on not only what is “critical” to, for and about our work as scholars, but the ways in which we find ourselves constrained and enacting agency in our present, sociopolitical moment.
