Abstract

Interview with Elba Raquel, artist and member of Together We Create, conducted as part of the Mosaic Atlas project. Elba identifies as Chicana. Topics discussed include mural arts, the San José art scene, Local Color, graffiti, advocacy, identity, womanhood, public art, education, access and artist economies. As part of the Mosaic Atlas project, SJSU students and faculty from the Anthropology and Geography departments interviewed people who support and produce art throughout the Bay Area.
