Abstract
Interview with Janely Rodriguez, conduced as part of the Mosaic Atlas Project. She identifies as Mexican American, and as a Chicana. She makes sustainable candles using scents and containers that connect to Latinx nostalgia. Topics include her cultural identification, her business as a candle maker, the organizations she works with and the venues where she has had pop-ups, include the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, and events such as El Día de los Muertos and La Navidad. She is affiliated with San José Made. As part of the Mosaic Atlas project, SJSU students and faculty from the Anthropology and Geography Departments interviewed people who support and produce art throughout the Bay Area.
