Abstract
Interview with Leti Castellano, Project Manager for Nirvana Soul, a café cultural hub in the SOFA district of downtown San José, Cupertino, and San José State University beginning in August 2023. She is also an illustrator, producer, and storyboard artist. This interview is part of the Mosaic Atlas project. Leti identifies with her Black and Filipino heritage, and expresses her Bay Area roots. Topics discussed include her education, a BFA in animation/illustration at San José State University, her art work, her work as project manager for Nirvana Soul, and the role of the café in activating community. As part of the Mosaic Atlas project, SJSU students and faculty from the Anthropology and Geography Departments interviewed people who support and produce art throughout the Bay Area.
