Abstract
This interview with Linh Vong was conducted by Jan English-Lueck as part of the Mosaic Atlas project. Linh Vong is the chef educator at Pie Ranch, located on the coast of Highway One. They teach culinary arts, using local and seasonal ingredients. Linh became a chef to connect with their Vietnamese culture and heritage. They value food to heal and build community. They are part of Queer Trans Vietnamese Cafe Collective, where they explore traditional Vietnamese dishes with a queer flavor. At Pie Ranch, Linh works with school groups and college students, teaching them about food justice, farming, and food systems. Linh also partners with the Amah Mutsun Land Trust to promote native plant propagation and restoration. As part of the Mosaic Atlas project, Mosaic Staff and Volunteers, SJSU students and faculty from the Anthropology and Film, Theater, and Dance Departments interviewed people who support and produce art throughout the Bay Area.
