Abstract
This interview with Janvier Berber, co-fouder and production manager of Teatro Alebrijes, describes the art of performing as a founding respong to the lack of professional opportunities for LGBTQ+ Latinx artists and the abscense of Third Spaces. Teatro Alebrijes serves as more than a performance group; it is a vessel for public health education. The narrative exposes the spatial precarity facing marginalized creative groups in a gentrifying Silicon Valley. Teatro Alebrijes utilizes comedy and performing as a tool for shared healing, transforming lived traumas regarding immigration, family, and politics into narratives of hope.
