Abstract
Purpose
This project developed a software tool to test the code coverage of the service creation environment of a voicemail system.
Design
A component based design methodology was used for the project. The tool was developed in Java, visual C++ and QA Partner. This was done for the cross platform applicability, the object-oriented nature of the language (which would facilitate code maintenance) and GUI application support available for Java. The tool uses QA Partner for GUI testing and code coverage testing has been done using Visual C++. It is very easy for user to test the new telephony application through this tool.
Results
The tool has been successfully implemented and is in use by a commercial company. It has improved testing and modification times for the telephony applications significantly. This tool will also be useful for testing new applications.
