Description

The King’s punk rock librarian will outline how he researched encyclopedia entries for KnowLA, the Encyclopedia of Louisiana, on musicians Clarence “Frogman” Henry, “Buckwheat Zydeco”, Allen Toussaint and Buddy Guy. Informed by a lifetime of collecting records and 10 years living in the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, Texas, Paul consulted books from the 1970s and 1980s and “even older” for his research as well as three authoritative Internet resources. He will tell us how to resolve conflicting information from secondary sources.

This presentation includes music!

Kauppila, Paul. 2011. "Buddy Guy." KnowLA Encyclopedia of Louisiana. http://www.www.knowla.org/entry.php?rec=698 (accessed June 7, 2011).

Kauppila, Paul. 2011. "Stanley "Buckwheat Zydeco" Dural, Jr.." KnowLA Encyclopedia of Louisiana. http://www.www.knowla.org/entry.php?rec=697 (accessed June 7, 2011).
