Abstract
This interview with Karen Sanico, a hula instructor, was conducted by Alexandra Garcia as part of the Mosaic Atlas project. Topics include Sanico's journey as a hula dancer and instructor, cultural identity, teaching hula, artistic influences, and community engagement. As part of the Mosaic Atlas project, Mosaic staff and volunteers, along with San José State University students and faculty from the Anthropology and Film, Theater, and Dance Departments, interviewed people who support and produce art throughout the Bay Area.
